I have a theory that I can't prove

but can't be disproved either...

The intensive care daleks really could have been Mark IIs, they weren't really trying to kill the Doctor they were trying to TOUCH HIM.

(And then they would have played trains!)

But Oswin made them forget him before that could happen.

By the way, I kind of want to call her Mark now. But Souffle Girl is too good, y'know?

So the Mark II daleks were given a treatment of "human factor". This made them, initially, just like children but in a dalek casing, eager to play games and I could swear the first thing they wanted from the Doctor seemed to be a *hug*.

like Matt, he was terrified. But then they started going around him and he said "Oh they're playing trains!" and the daleks replied back in voices as childlike as you can make dalek voices, "Traaaains. Doc-tor. Dizzy Doc-tor."

On that note I would like to say how very much I loved Oswin's dalek voice laden with emotion, saying "...so much? They hate you so much!"

Yeah...

She's referring back to "Evil of the Daleks" which is one of the very best episodes in the entire show, and would be even better if more than just part 4 survived. To be fair, part 4 featured Daleks exhorting the captured maiden in the tower to eat her own food rather than feeding the pigeons because they were worried that her body weight had dropped 7 ounces. I kid you not. It is one of the very best things ever.

The Mark III Travel Units were what Davros called his latest inventions in his first (and best) episode, "Genesis of the Daleks" - the term refers to the Daleks we all know and love today. Your standard black-on-grey omnicidal egomaniacs.

Anyway, about watching old skool - seriously, lemme know if you ever want some help with that :D

I'm fairly sure that they're called Mark II daleks in EotDD....

Weird...

But I will bow to your superior knowledge of that particular episode.

See, When you said Mk IIs I thought you meant the predecessors to the Mk IIIs, whom we have reason to believe were also the inhabitants of the Dead City. How is it that you use that term to refer to the HF-Daleks?

(I was wondering about Alpha, Beta and Omega)

For what it's worth, the Emperor Dalek from EotD was definitely one of the Intensive Care Daleks.

And of course, the HF-Daleks would have been on Skaro, not on Vulcan, Kembel, Spiridon, Exxilon, etc. But see the Emperor Dalek above.

I...get this theory. I don't think I like it though. I'm sure if any of them had survived they'd certainly be around here somewhere, but this section seems to be for a different category of ...patients. I was strongly reminded of them by the dancing people early. Dizzy! Dalek!

Okay, so I don't think they're LITERALLY made of Jaime, but I do think that these are the daleks that came to ...admire, agree with, fall in love with what have you, the Doctor. I think something about fighting him gave them feelings.

Certainly, the reverse is true. That crack in his voice...

"I don't think they're LITERALLY made of Jamie" is a fairly awesome thing to ever have to type...

With that in mind...I can accept that. Or perhaps that they themselves don't know quite what they want with him. But you're right, they never say Exterminate. All they ever say is Doc-tor...

Well, he does have that effect on people...

So Susan and Ace are particularly special because they can resist saying "Doctor"?

HA! That's not quite what I meant.

But Susan and Ace are particularly special.
