Dream Journal

My dream this morning was that they were filming the Man From UNCLE and I was on the crew as a runner (the role Janine Jones used to fill for DW before becoming Assistant Director) (clearly I have watched too many Doctor Who Confidentials and seen too many of this year's filming pics). It was. Um. Very interesting. I usually didn't know what was going on, but would suddenly see five seconds of a scene and get intrigued.
So my sleeping mind picked up on even fewer inconsistencies than usual, because in the dream the filming was present day and yet the actors were RV and DMc as they were in 1963. Also all of the filming was compressed into one busy snowy day.
The first bit I caught a glimpse of was Illya saying good natured snarky things about the assignment and how he was sure Napoleon would have enjoyed it more than he. And Napoleon saying that he would be outside with the limo in case they had misread the Ambassador.
The next thing was overhearing the director saying, "Well since it's a suspended animation story..." and getting intrigued but duty called before I could hear more.
And then, turning a corner I nearly ran into Illya in a dress. He said sorry and hurried on, with me staring after. My thoughts were split: partly "How did the makeup department pull THAT off?!" because he made really a very pretty little girl in a strapless green satin cocktail dress which somehow still didn't reveal DMc's substantial back muscles (this is why I know it was the boys from about 1963 btw), and partly "Tristissima etc. have GOT to hear about this".
The next scene I encounted had a large number of fans about my age, all gathered up to play a choir standing on a street corner. (I think this idea came from the DW Fan Orchestra.) They were watching and giggling about Illya being the Ambassador's date as the limo arrived through the snowy streets when something happened to all of us.
Still in the dream, I woke up. The fan choir were lying about in the snow where they had been standing. The limo was gone, and Napoleon and Illya lay together in the middle of the street, slowly getting covered by snow. All the cameras and equipment were gone, and some of the crew.
I walked up to the boys, and thought that it was a hell of a cliffhanger for the movie to leave them in the snow to die, wondered if the cameras etc. had been stolen by THRUSH, and then walked off to see if I could find anyone else who had woken up.
And I found Tristissima, groaning and pushing eirself out of slightly salmon-tinted snow. E looked up and me and coughed and said "before they made me sleep, I wasn't perfectly healthy but at least I didn't have pneumonia." I offered a hand to help em up and said "Come on" and walked out into the snow.
So. Um. Yeah, my dream about filming the story sort of got meta there. The story overtook us all. But I felt fairly certain that there would be an end to the cliffhanger, so I don't think anyone died from the mysterious THRUSH plot.
