So. Second day in Castro Valley, everything's soQUIETaaaarrgh! But the local cafe is perfect because it has Turkish coffee, good food and free wifi. That's important, since Gma's house does not.

Took Raina for the longest walk this morning and she was mostly well behaved, but a bit confused on the rules of crossing the street. Still needs training for that, but I think it might be 'cause she knows I'll get the cars to stop for her. (uff da) But we were walking for over an hour, and that's a long time for a cat to stay close to her human. In that respect, she deserves plenty of praise.

I don't quite know what to do with myself. I suppose I can just start hanging out at the local library, but I think if I walk there Raina will actually follow me the whole way. Which means I'd better keep her harness on hand for crossing the big streets. It's too bad I can't just carry her in a basket on my back or something. I can just imagine how offended she would be if I put her in my backpack for part of a trip.

At least I have a couple days of tutoring to do tomorrow and Saturday. That'll be good.

So...I totally made a sorting algorithm of Doctor Who canonicity. I don't think it works very well yet: here's how my test cases came out (with 5 being least canonical and 25 being most canonical):

1) The Doctor is half human: 14
2) The Doctor built the TARDIS with his own two hands: 6
3) Timelords have symbiotic nuclei: 15
4) The Blinovitch limitation effect: 23
5) The Doctor is Merlin: 17.5

Obviously, the problem is the first one is coming out way too high. (I'm pretty happy with the others). But I wanted to share what I was doing with someone who could "appreciate" it. Although really it just goes to show that I have problems :p

Do you have anything including whether the event actually happened in a serialized form vs. a movie? Because things in movie form seem to have a lower level of canonicity in general, especially if you look at Peter Cushing movies. Basically, I'd have to see the algorithm to comment on it.

Anyway, I don't actually recognize #3, so I may not have seen that story yet. I approve of the high score of #4, though.
