The Doctor: "You know when grown-ups tell you everything's gonna be fine, and YOU think they're probably lying, to make you feel better?"
Girl: *looks annoyed in memory* "Yes"
The Doctor: *gives her a look* "Everything's going to be fine." *reaches out to take her hand*
******
Eee hee hee. "What sort of job's a kiss-o-gram?" "I go to parties and I kiss people. In outfits... It's a laugh!" "You were a little girl five minutes ago!" "You're worse than my aunt!" "I'm the Doctor, I'm worse than everybody's aunt! ...and that is not how I'm introducing myself."
******
Oh, that's just not right. He just did something that was way, WAY too much like Ben. Not right, NOT RIGHT. *grumble grumble Doctor should never be reminding me of ex boyfriends, never mind that Tennant used to remind me of someone sometimes it's still not fair* *also, still disturbed that he's my age*

Date: 2010-04-06 07:37 pm (UTC)Two definitely did the bowtie thing. Mostly what I notice about Three is the ruffles. Six has a (blue and white polka dot) cravate. Five and Seven wear sweater vests (and no tie at all). And they all look better in their shirt-sleeves (especially the ones with suspenders! - but Six in his vest in The Two Docs wasn't bad either).
Also - I really hope you mean new TARDIS desktop theme and not new TARDIS. (heh, now all we need is Patrick Troughton popping up and saying "I don't like it.")

"Yes, I do, don't I."
She can pick it herself? Well, I suppose she is telepathic. Now I'm wondering whose idea all the other redecorations were...

Date: 2010-04-06 07:41 pm (UTC)Speaking of "but he's my age" we just watched "The Time Monster" last night, and I'm now convinced that what an unnecessarily young Doctor needs in a companion is Professor Reubish. (We also noticed that Reubish is perhaps the only person on the entire show whose first reaction to time travel is not "I want to go home." - even though it maybe should have been).

Date: 2010-04-08 01:01 am (UTC)I don't think the exchange fits because of the new series though - fact is, the Doctor's life goes from one disaster to another, and yet he goes through it smiling. So here we have him telling a girl essentially just that: No, this is not safe, but we're going to do this and get through it together.
