Song I have stuck in my head...

Do not forsake me, oh my darlin'
On this, our weddin' day
Do not forsake me, oh my darlin'
Wait, wait along
The noonday train will bring Frank Miller...
So when I was pretty young, my favorite movie was this western called High Noon, about a man who quit his job as town sheriff because he was marrying a pacifist, but then it turns out his nemesis is getting out of prison that same day, with a likely goal to kill him.
So, at the risk of his marriage, he prepares to handle the situation, while his wife struggles with her principles. She ends up getting captured by the bad guy and his gang, and saved like a good damsel - after picking up a gun and shooting one of the men herself, and she put up a decent fight when captured, too.
I was really enamoured with Gary Cooper's character, even though he was really old. And Grace Kelly seemed so lovely and intelligent. And I always sang that one snatch of song, having never learned all the lyrics.
Anyway, here's the song as it is in the movie:
On a lighter note, High Tech Noon is silly fun, despite the bad dubbing.
On this, our weddin' day
Do not forsake me, oh my darlin'
Wait, wait along
