... there are rights to intellectual property, but they should be primarily commercial in nature. I can understand certain things like shutting down TV-links. But others?

The BBC just ordered the removal of Dr. Who knitting patterns from the net.

YOU DON'T ATTACK SOMEONE FOR NON-PROFIT FANART. (The people who sold her designs on Ebay, yes. Not her.) It's a part of loving a show. The fan community encourages interest in a program. A lot of these programs spread, especially in other countries, by word of mouth. (example one here) It is just STUPID to discourage the very people you want to buy your program.

Or, you know, they may just decide to stop spending money on you. Hmm... last time I gave the BBC money... oh! Before they shut down TV-links! What do ya know.
