And there was opera, too!

Just watched No Reservations. Hee. But I skipped out on the predictable Everything Goes Wrong part... romantic comedies are a fairly simple formula, and one that works, but sometimes... well, it's never the case in reality that one thing goes terribly wrong, you deal with it and it's done. Anyway, the thing that makes a romantic comedy special or different is not generally the plot but the premise and I liked this one. But I wasn't in the mood to get all frustrated by things falling to pieces when you know they're not going to stay that way, and why watch when you know they're going to get in a fight, stop working together and one of them will leave the restaurant?! Well, sometimes there's a point, but I didn't feel like it.
But as I said, I liked the premise. I watched a British show a while back called Chef!, which was deliciously fun and funny and you know, I'm about as obsessed with good cooking as I am with good singing? But singing is more public, generally, and really good chefs generally don't show up in my circles. (Though I do love getting guys to cook for me. Or with me. It's so fun!)
...hmmm. There are people out there I miss cooking with. And singing with. And tinkering with things with. Ah well.
