I'm progressing back to Nerd on the Geek-Nerd scale.

I missed out on the first part of the physics talk today (another applicant for faculty), but I did get to chat with the guy more than the lady on Monday. He's so young! I mean... if I didn't know he's a post-doc, I'd think he was my age! (He was even asking about fun things to do around here.) (He was cute too, and I think one of the girls was disappointed that he's married.) (Funny part is, I never did catch his name.)

The subject was primarily quantum dots, but what I mostly caught was the bit about buckyballs. (They found that if they moved a buckyball around a field of potassium atoms, it would pick up the potassium around its base, like a mother hen surrounded by chicks.) (Also, they have some really nifty images of buckyballs at varied energy states.)

They ordered too much pizza for the after-talk dinner again. I tried calling Jeff to see if he wanted me to take him some, without luck. I'm getting to know my fellow physics majors better, so that's cool.

Work work. I should do some math.

HAH! To see if he wanted some? You totally could have just brought him it, and it would have been gobbled down. :P But you know that.

Totally, but I was at Stuft and not in the mood to hike it all the way to Game Kastle's new location since I had work in an hour. Anyway, the first attempt to call him got interrupted by hearing my professors talking about Battlestar so I had to hang up and try later.

My boss and I have a Battlestar vs. Firefly feud going on, it's kinda awesome. We refuse to like/watch the other's choice. Heh.

Bah! Both are good!

The funny bit was, when I mentioned leaving Battlestar for Doctor Who, (Kesten asked old or new) I expected to then give the usual "You should watch my show because:" lecture... when one of my fellow students proceeded to do so.

Ha-HA! I am in my element.

Good times. I was a total geekish nerd in high school, but I only dabble in geekery these days. I adore Firefly (the snarky wit reeled me in), it will take a lot of convincing to get me to sit down and watch other shows. Too much going on! :(

Interesting. I sit down and watch them because I have too much going on and I need the break. (But then, I do have the chance to do so during work.)
