I have christened my new sketch book with a picture involving the three things with which I initially honed my skill: a princess, a castle, and a few trees.  I suppose I should include water in there, but eh.  I am really rather proud of how the picture's turning out, considering it was mostly intended as an exercise, and rather irritated at the fact that my sisters kept teasing me about drawing princesses at my age.  I have Great Plans for the cover, probably to be done with Prismacolor pencils and "laminated" with book tape (along with the little dedication with its illegible signature).

Speaking of my sisters, I attempted to teach Victoria and Mike how to play Once Upon a Time with the assistance of Elisabeth who had played it a grand total of one time.  Chaos ensued, though they did figure it out, sort of.  I had to call Him afterward, simply because he's the only one who could appreciate the full comedic impact of the situation.  He said he was kind of relieved - he'd considered calling and singing me "You've Got a Friend in Me" but when he looked up the lyrics, realized it was quite definitely inappropriate to the situation. (Bah ha ha)  And he said he was glad I still awarded him best friend status (though I think that will be forever without the same emphasis as those who bear it as a title.  Stronger? Weaker? At this point, who knows?).

Oh, yesterday was awesomeness.  My cute little French coworker (well, actually her family's French, she was born in Switzerland and raised in Quebec) Gaille did the best cheer-up job anybody could.  Starting off with a really terrible joke about Celestial Seasonings being made with the blood of excess Mormon wives and children (she can get away with it, being one herself), and continuing with lots of chatting and joking, culminating with playing Strauss waltzes and punk music for the final few hours of work..... ROCK.
If she were a guy, heck, if she were a lesbian, I could be tempted....

I spend a good amount of time laughing at myself singing: Radio, by Alkaline Trio; The End of the World, from Girl, Interrupted; One Less Bell to Answer; other stuff like that.

I can't laugh at: Mr. Brightside and All These Things I've Done by the Killers; You Don't Have To Say You Love Me.
