Very much enjoying The Fifth Profession. Some decent action, a rather amusing variety of accents (including a rare moment of McCallum's native Scottish!), a teeny bit of het and neuroscience!
*Edit: Slightly annoyed at a moment that suggests black is a color of bad things to Japanese, though*
I know I've said it before, but Murray Gold is brilliant and if there's anything I love about the new series, it's his work. If you have trouble hearing the dialogue, turn on the subtitles. The music is worth it.
When it comes to 36 Years, though, it doesn't interfere. Even listening to it alone is like listening to the background, life ticking away while you are focused on something else, while the things that matter change and break and fade.
I would love to write around it, for hours and days, but for now the ache only sings gently in the back of my mind. I do wish it were longer.
Invited my cousin Jeffra over for ice cream and a short card game. The options were Lost Cities, Mag Blast and Jambo (supposedly the longest at 40 min expected game time). I expected it all to last an hour, maybe two.
She chose Mag Blast. Somehow the game lasted four and a half hours, because I kept drawing sucky ships and she never had the resources she needed, and we both just had mad luck with blasts and spacedocks.
At least she had fun, and we had fun talking.
