I stayed over at Tamara and Rachel's last night, because I had stayed at school for the debate and then I found out that Tamara just broke up with her first boyfriend because he got drunk and made out with another girl right in front of her and her friends..... and she asked me how she can ever trust anyone again. And several other questions I couldn't answer simply.

Mostly I just reminded her that people are fragile. There's not much more you can do, especially from my position.

I also helped her play a very minor prank on him, for the sake of getting her to laugh.

Done with school administrivia for another couple months.

Jeff's still not acting friend-like, though he tried starting a conversation when I bought Mancala at Game Kastle. And even if he did want to talk, I'm so generally depressed right now and afraid of what he might say that I wonder what the use would be. But I'm more afraid of him never calling.

Dan Maloney finally discovered that he doesn't have a place in the schedule for me, so I need to find another job again. It only took him two weeks and me coming to ask what the heck was going on. Good thing I got the grader position first.

Problems look big and solutions look few. I'm tired and lonely despite friends and family. I see myself getting past this as I always do, but I also see the solutions being temporary bandages on a festering problem.

God help me.
Watching Sarah Jane Adventures to feel better.

Liking Mr. Smith's slightly altered personality.

Also, stealth-suited Sontaran! Hoping for a few decent references to Sarah's past. I mean seriously. Last time she saw one she was tortured, after all. And she's the only person besides the Doctor to deal with them more than once.

Oh, that was a cold initial reaction to Maria's news. Fits, I guess.

"No, Clyde, I think it sees us." "So why isn't it coming after us?" "I think it's studying us!" NICE reference!!! and subtle. Very good!

Maria: "Look, Unit!" But all I can hear in my head is "Look, a monkey!"

...Hmm. When Karg says "Put it down female!", I remember a time when Sontarans didn't realize humans had two sexes. I also wonder slightly if the writers wanted (but failed) to find a way to nod at Sarah Jane's feminist past...

"I met your people a long time ago, and some time off yet!" *fgleee!*

...Curious. Karg seems to be harder, harsher, better written than Stahl - the one in the kids show is actually scarier and more serious than the ones in the main show! (I'd say better acted, too, but I think it's just better circumstances. The Masterless Man, in a way - just like Linx!) I think that's a nod of respect to Sarah Jane's background.

Bit prone to monologuing, though. Ah well. Kids Show.

...Hah ha! Threats of experimentation! Yes!

Oh hey, I just realized why they had been studying Waterloo at the beginning of the story. Wow, I can be slow sometimes.

Oh Maria's dad sounds so embarrassed to say the magic words! "Mr. Smith! ...Mr Smith *cough*... I need you." Cue the computer's theme music. (I love that it has theme music!)

"In 25 minutes, the 10th fleet shall be avenged. My name shall be purged of shame! I shall return to Sontar as Karg, the Avenger." Such old-school feel! And such a good actor! Hee!

Oh, Sarah Jane is brilliant!

Running Reference count: Time Warrior 3, Sontaran Experiment 5 ...oops, I lost count.

Well, that was worth the wait.
