Oh hey, so I picked up a pair of jeans today that I hadn't worn in ages and found a couple of free Peet's drink coupons in them. So, naturally, I stopped in the nearest Peets for my freebie.

The guy behind the counter is kind of cute, in a young way, and looking at me appreciatively. He leans over to his coworker and whispers "Let me handle this one."

We go through the drink ordering process and he asks my name. "Francesca. Franny works."

"Ah, but Francesca's so much more interesting... okay, there we go. Thanks, Franchesta! ...oh God..."

And the poor boy was treated to a roar of laughter from my not-so-ladylike self.

Harvey may have been the most enjoyable playreading since The Matchmaker, though it did not generate any new sayings for the group. I had SO much fun playing Veta Louise Simmons - the sister of Elwood P. Dowd. She's totally outrageous and often contradicts herself, plus she gets very flustered and is very much a laugh. Papa played Dowd - quite well, considering he doesn't make the most convincing Taoist.

Alex is planning to take the Foreign Service exam some time after he comes home from the Peace Corps. He will not or cannot tell his final intentions for this yet. *sisterly speculation*

Finally finished the Amelia Peabody books, save one. Spent a day reading the last one. Need to get my own copy of the German version of The Lives of Christopher Chant. Need to return Chris's copy of the same and give him a few Gaiman books.

When one steals Ben's hat, he will follow it *almost* anywhere. Muah ha ha.

"No, I don't want to be a waiter!" Mirrormask is teh awesome. And man are those robot-maids freakish and scary - especially when they sing off-key.
