First of all, the Torchwood writers hate Tosh so much, poor girl.
The poem is NOT inspired by that. Okay, maybe a little. But there are two other sources, darnit.
**********
Ages old and all alone
But she is young and he is worse
And few years burn as if an age
Find no reason left to care
Leaving him behind
Let her shout where you can't hear
But still you hear and still you hear
And somewhere in your heart it's just enough.
There you go
It happened again
How many times till you start to think it's you?
How many times until you doubt
That you could ever leave
The same horrid story
Until you leave the first behind
You will stay young or maybe worse.
And there you'll sit curled in your bed
And chant your fears to drown the verse
There's nothing left for you unless
You throw away the primary story
Break from all that you once thought
And see the lies in all their gory truth
Again in all its glory
