So Lia and I were talking about Doctor Who based gaming and she liked the little bit I told her about something I was considering, so here we go...

Time Lord Mod for Unknown Armies

The player starts by rolling a d12. This is how many regenerations the character has left. If the GM feels like being more generous, 2d6 could also be used.

The start by using their usual ability points to fill out mental and soul parts, meaning they have high scores in these than usual for a human. Instead of the usual physical sections, they get to fill out this:

REGENERATION CARD available points: 200

Appearance (description):

Strength:
Example Skills - all fighting, pushing, lifting, all running

Flexibility:
Example Skills - martial arts, dodge, sprinting

Body Chemistry:
Example Skills - fingtertip drug analysis, poison resistance

Oxygen reserve:
Example Skills - play dead, gas resistance, long-distance running

This gives the player a broader selection of body-based skills, including the specific control that Time Lords have over their internal chemistry and respiration, but no greater ability in these than average. As you can tell by the name, this is the section that changes if the character dies and regenerates. Ideally, the GM has a set of 20 or more of these to shuffle and give to a character upon death, unless the character has a mental skill for regeneration control (figured I'd throw Romana a bone. Suggest that such skill be limited to rearranging only one of the above sections, though.)

In addition, rather than an anger stimulus, the player should choose a corruption stimulus with a connection to one of the insanity tracks. Fear stimulus should have no such connection. This is because Time Lords do have a nasty way of turning into evil geniuses, and they seem to be able to do it for ANY REASON. Borusa did it for Gallfrey. The Rani did it For Science! The Master and the War Chief for power, and the Meddling Monk for fun. If a Time Lord fails everything on their corruption track, they will become an Evil Genius... but that needn't prevent them from working just fine with everyone else, as long as their goals dovetail.

Any other ideas are welcome.
