I'm watching Picnic with my mom. It's a sort of Labor Day tradition with my family - since almost the entire movie takes place on a Labor Day.
It's painful. The movie is almost a tragedy - there is a happy ending, but a lot is destroyed in the course of it. Jealousy is the main theme - of another's looks, another's smarts, another's youth, another's wealth, another's freedom or another's girl.
And a guy with all the best intentions in the world but none of the self control he needs to get where he's going. He only made one mistake, a big mistake, and everything falls apart.
