Turns out they're remaking Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. And I'm torn between "Can't possibly be as good as the original because Alec Guinness!" and "Ooooooh Benedict Cumberbatch!"

I'll just have to watch it and find out!

My sister and family have left as suddenly as they arrived, and I vaguely wonder if it's just the fact that the drains went yesterday (but we got them fixed) or because Elisabeth just really didn't want to be living here or because I called her out on being rude to me and she'd rather not apologize...? Or if they're going to be coming back...? Very confusing.

But Elisabeth is showing a lot of stress, that is certain.

Oh man, Alec Guinness was so brilliant. Have you seen Kind Hearts And Coronets?

YES. That is an amazing movie. (And so full of Alec Guiness!)

I've also seen The Ladykillers and The Lavender Hill Mob (although the latter only once and a long time ago and I don't remember much about it).

I didn't see the remake of The Ladykillers but the fact that it was Cohen Brothers gave me the impression that it was probably (a) extremely different and (b) quite good.

Clearly, I have to track this film down.
