Dec. 30th, 2008 11:29 pmRiyan called me again to hang out. We started at Barefoot, but after a while playing Scrabble, I got restless and recommended a walk.
"Legal to the right, illegal to the left. Which do you want?" "Either one." "Left then. It's prettier." We spent a while exploring the stream near Victo's house in both directions in the end (despite a short dress but hey, I managed nicely), but the trespassing area was definitely more interesting. We found someone's flower garden planted behind their backyard fence. Elsewhere we found an old tree house and three very sturdy rope swings (one of which we both tried, repeatedly. It was awesome!). I ended up giving several small horticultural lectures and getting mud on my shoes, but though we crossed the stream repeatedly we never fell in! (Though he kept stressing about whether he could make the jumps. I'm a good navigator though.) Yay!
And this evening I made dinner for Barrett, Katherine and Rob. After all, they have been very good friends to me, through some very tough times. It felt good to return the favor a little.
