Relaxed

I spent - for me - an absolutely huge amount of time just lying in bed this morning. Add a shower and a nice warm zip-up turtleneck and I'm doing nicely right now.

Jeff came over for a while last night and got into a huge long discussion/debate with Stephanie. I kept hiding my face to laugh because it was SO familiar. Bah ha ha. That was cool.

Alien

It is SO weird watching the first encounter with the Daleks. The Doctor saying "We have no reason to interfere" and "Perhaps we can negotiate with these Daleks" and "We need action, not arguments!" ...having Daleks who actually can be fairly clever with emotional manipulation, and who still have different voices...

Those first few episodes of Hartnell are nearly unrecognizable, honestly. Ian figures out all the really clever ideas. The Doctor is constantly complaining that they shouldn't get involved in things (until they can't help it). One might attribute it (if you're willing to justify it with something created years later) to the fact that he'd only recently gotten away from the Time Lords and still kind of thought like they did...

(He's still curious though. He actually sabotaged the TARDIS so they'd have to explore the Daleks' city on Skaro. It was all his fault! Hah ha ha.)
