Frak it.
Tonight I was going to have dinner in a restaurant, good company, conversation and a few games of Lost Cities. Instead, I have a few hours of free time and a little money in my wallet I didn't want.
And then I got off the train at the wrong stop and had to wait for another one to get here.
I know I dressed purposely unflatteringly tonight, but if I let my hair down and smile sweetly, I bet I can get free ice cream from a waiter at Mel's.
*Edit: I'd complain about getting a waitress instead, but she recognized me and we had a good chat, and that was one delicious hot brownie sundae. Feeling better.*

It tells something about me that my mom is going off to Boston, leaving me both houses for the week and I think I'll have a boring weekend.
And today she had an appointment to get her hair professionally bleached and dyed for the first time because my dad has an agreement with her - he sticks to his diet, she bleaches her hair. (He likes blonde hair, and hers is dark brown - her blonde streaks went gray when she was 30). So far she's always bleached it herself, but that means it grows out funky. But it does make her look younger.
Too bad, though, her silver streaks are kinda pretty. I wonder how it turned out.

Oh, hey, just remembered.
Oct. 18th, 2006 10:19 pmElis: "So Andy and I are thinking of going as Al Franken and Ann Coulter for Halloween."
Me: "I know him, but who's she again?"
Elis: "Just like him, but conservative.... Man, I hate the things she writes, she makes me think I want to leave the country!"
Me: *laughs* "So it's the equivalent of you dressing up as a witch for Halloween!"
Explanation - we never dressed up as anything evil for Halloween growing up, unless it was some play on words, like Blood Sucking Lawyer, Corporate Vampire or Cereal Killer. In fact, I have yet to. The only time I dressed as a witch, it was Morwen and she is far from evil.
